Amelia Waller has returned to Australia after dancing as a soloist with the Leipzig Ballet Company in Germany for nearly 6 years, prior to this she was soloist with the Queensland Ballet Company for 8 years.
During this time she worked with many international classical and contemporary choreographers dancing works by William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Meryl Tankard, Mario Schroeder, Nils Chrisite, Stephan Thoss, Francois Klaus, Uwe Sholz, Mauro Astolfi, Young Soon Hue Simon, Kim Mcarthy and Natalie Weir to name a few. She has also toured extensively throughout the world performing in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, Taiwan, Colombia, Singapore, Japan and Brazil.
Amelia has danced soloist or principal roles in Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Excalibre, Rite of Spring, Carmina Burana, Das Grosse Messe, Chaplin, Nibelungen and The Little Mermaid.
Highlights include Carmen In Francois Klaus's production of Carmen, Stella, A Street Car named desire ( Francois Klaus) and Chaplin, Leipzig Ballet Company, Mario Schroeder for which she was nominated for most outstanding dancer by the Thalia Awards in Czech Republic.
Most recently Amelia has been involved in teaching and helping to co-ordinate Australia’s first Contemporary Dance Prix. She has also recently staged a work from international choreographer and director Mario Schroeder on the Queensland Ballet Academy.
